Appetizer for Roskilde Festival

The project

For nine days every summer, food stalls, restaurants, and bars at Roskilde Festival serve millions of meals and drinks. And food is not only confined to the stalls. Several events take place during the festival where guests can learn, be creative and have fun with food as the main theme.

Solving utility while allowing for fun and serendipity

The obvious and first thing we needed to get right was to make it extremely easy to find a specific stall or food type.
The first challenge thus was the utility factor. The user could filter by kitchen type, or sort by name, distance, popularity and price.

I really wanted to make the app fun to use while being very useful. This filter panel is what makes the app unique compared to the other food apps – and something that still makes me smile when I see it.

I also really like the food carousel . Knowing that most people attending festivals are not always completely rational or in full control of their fine motor skills this was a perfect way of allowing users to find the food they wanted.
